Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the US and Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She's the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by the time she turned nine. This ability which helped her obtain her first job as a Univision producer assistant Miami. In Miami, she collaborated with producers for television shows that were national, like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she began her news reporting for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Covering stories related to drug trafficking and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was a news reporter on the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 at 5 pm. She was a news reporter in English until 9pm, then a news anchor for 10 pm, and then returned on the Spanish channel. She was also frequently called upon to be an anchor for sports and weather. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on more responsibilities. She also wrote articles for The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was hired as anchor for sports for Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. The anchor also worked in the same role as Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. There is also a younger sibling. The family relocated to Miami after moving from Mexico in the US. She divorced her parents within a short time and in 1995, she married a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. When on vacation Antonietta was staying at the home of her sister in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta, a high-school senior who had a vision of how she thought her future would be like, visited Mount Union University to see what she could get out of the college. As it turned out she loved the school and that they had the kind of program she was searching for. After completing her studies, she was accepted to the University for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU in which she is a member. They developed a close relationship. Mark Bergmann was the person who instilled her faith and confidence, as well as whose enthusiasm for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she determined to meet his demands, never letting him down.
