Even though the "hands in space" principle is certainly a part of our daily routine it is clear that the confidence in Rotary is growing, and more members are making acquaintances in person. The Rotary organization has evolved. We are in the summer of 2021 and the uncertainty concerning whether Rotary can offer the same level of human interaction that Rotary members enjoyed in years past continues. Though the old adage of 'hands face space' will undoubtedly be part of our ongoing routine it is apparent that trust is growing and more face-to-face connections occur. Rotary is, however, having evolved. Rotary networks help to build long-lasting friendships. In order to keep the business meetings we hold online we've reintroduced service as well as social activities in a secure meeting room. Our newfound opportunities have combined with what we learned from previous outbreaks to provide a brand and new perspective for Rotary. It was encouraging to learn that 75% of Rotary clubs plan to continue their "business like usual" activities. This summer there have been a lot of Rotary members were out in public focusing on various projects including river and beach clean-ups, litter removal and beach cleanups. Check out this piece 1.
